Why Japan is so ugly?
I've been in many places and different countries, but in my whole life I had never seen a country so ugly as Japan!
Terrible buildings, no street planning at all, narrow streets without name. Pachinko-like architecture. Billboards and lights everywhere. Not a single patch without concrete. Bunkerized rivers. Omnipresent electric poles and cables hanging anywhere. Old houses falling a part. Cities without personality. indistinguishable villages. Everywhere looks the same: a huge parking lot of some convenience store or a department store. Ah, the rest of the country is just an impenetrable jungle of bushes and bamboo, full of the narrowest roads ever, going to nowhere, with nothing interesting to see, a part from some decadent, gaudy and bankrupt pseudo-attraction parks or fake monuments. Definitely, the least interesting, remotely isolated, empty of variety country in the world!

Re: Why Japan is so ugly?
yeah, it's what I'm trying to do, as soon as I finish what I came to do here. When it's finished, I'll let all of you live immerse in this sea of ugliness, mediocrity, bad taste, shabbiness, dullness, and concrete mixed with rusted iron and rotten wooden houses. Nevertheless, this is not an answer to my question. I asked WHY.

Re: Why Japan is so ugly?
WRONG & CORRECT
Once you leave Kansai area, the immense beauty is breathtaking. Rent a car - drive around Shikoku - it's astounding. kINOSAKI - so untamed. Drive up north and visit the southern alps at Okuhida; Souther Chiba pinnsula is like a rural Florida; Hokkaido is a wonder; a combination of Canada, New Zealand; and American Colorado. Splendor.

HOWEVER; this beautiful land is ruined by the disease spreader & conartist - DANIEL BRENAR.

He will stread so deadly disease, that millions will be disceminated. KILL THAT BASTARD

He is the Hiroshima of diseases

Re: Why Japan is so ugly?
I think You don't have to let us know anything about Japan . some of us likes Japan here . Therefore we will feel bad if someone say bad about Japan too much .

I also believe some part of Japan isn't really nice ,But we do have beautiful places a lot if we get out of big cities.
Hope you will have a curious to visit even one of them before you leave Japan .
Perhaps people can't tell you why Japan is so ugly because we think Japan isn't ugly as much as you think .

Re: Why Japan is so ugly?
I'm not living in Tokyo. I'm leaving in Kansai and I have a car. I've been to all the places you mentioned, but Shikoku or Hokkaido (damned! there's where the beauty stays untouched!)
Hopefully, I'm not American (I'd rather kill myself than being from the most ignorant, self-centered, and naziest country in the world). I'm from a corner at the Mediterranean sea, where olive trees have been growing for thousands of years. Near the mountains and by the sea, beautiful and colored villages, with astonishing landscapes. World known artists have gone there to get inspiration for the most influential pieces of art. There's history oozing every corner, carved in stone, for everyone to see.
But let's not talk about my home. Just pick any street in any capital in Europe (Paris, London, Roma, Vienna), take a picture, and then compare to any (ANY) street, let's say, in Osaka. If you can't tell the difference, guys, you have a problem!
BTW, calling these mountains the 'Japaneses Alps' is an arrogant joke. Have any of you ever been in the REAL Alps?

Japan was a beautiful land, with misty woods, sparkling rivers with crystal water, breathtaking seasides, and beautiful green rice pads. But now, it's just a back yard full of junk, concrete beaches and rivers, monotonous landscape of dull copy-pasted houses, and narrowness in any direction. SEMAI, Japan is SEMAI. This is how I see the country.

ps: only one guy gave an answer to my arguments, providing examples of beautiful places in Japan. The rest just gave 'ad hominem' answers, attacking me. This is silly and give a measure of their limited argumentative capacities.

Re: Why Japan is so ugly?
You should ask where beautiful places are in Japan at first!
