Is it difficult for Westerns to find a girlfriend in Tokyo? Just wondering, since most japanese girls don't speak english. Isn't it difficult for westerners to find a real " Japanese girlfriend" who is on the same level in both language capability and intellectuality?
Most Japanese girls use westerners for sex etc, just out of fantasy it seems. |

Re: Is it difficult for Westerns to find a girlfriend in Tokyo? In Tokyo it's not hard to find Japanese girls (or boys) who speak English well. I don't think they use gaijin for sex, but maybe as an escape from their routine (they can do and say things around us that they can't do and say around other Japanese). Or for English practice. Some are sincere and some aren't, but there are a lot of people in Tokyo so I'm sure you can find someone good.

"Its not hard to get a Japanese girlfriend, but its really hard get rid of one." You may find yourself in a relationship very fast and have a damn hard time getting out of it if its not what you want. |

I think that's true for guys who don't have a lot of previous dating experience. It's more an inner confidence thing than an actual difficulty. Breaking up with someone only requires that you make a decision and don't back down from it. If the other person has more experience than you they may be able to make you back down.
