re: I usually like it when a girl wears nice makeup. As long as it's not WAY TOO MUCH, then I like it, I think it makes the girl look more womanly and somehow more classy, more dressed-to-impress.
Of course I get the opposite impression if they put on way too much. Then it looks lower class, sleazy.

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? first,it's polite to wear make-up in public
second, make-up makes Japanese girls look more pretty I agree with colors12, but make-up in Japan just like a kind of culture. btw, I am a Chinese girl. I wear make-up when I have enough time. |

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? Well, looking at the opinion from me who is japanese...they dont like to be different from something "usual". Of course not all japanese girls wear too much make-up, but they do because almost all of them put make-up all the time, especially going out...like everyday routine. I don't care too much about makeing up everyday, usually I dont put make-up at all when i go to school..since it's kinda taking too much time :P but at least friends around me might think of me like "She( = me) is not interested in making up, or polishing herself on fashion". Most jap girls hate to be seen like this, but I dont care....lol sorry if this is not an answer to the original question~

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? "She tried to look beautiful for the date"... that sounds so desperate.
First off: It's good to take care of yourself and look nice for your partner! Nothing is more disappointing than getting together with a good-looking girl and then noticing how she stops caring about her looks because she has you already. But there are so many things a girl can do to look better. Make-up is not necessarily better. If my girlfriend wears lipstick and nailpolish, I'm turned off. She's already pretty, but things like that make her look less pretty. Besides, kissing someone with lipstick on feels awkward. If washing her face is all she needs to look good, then I hope she doesn't feel like it's an obligation to wear make-up and do her hair for an hour. Obligation in a relationship is bad. And I know how many girls feel like it's a social obligation to wear make-up; not just in Japan. It's enforced by magazines they read etc. But please, just judge by yourself if you look better with it, and if you're comfortable wearing it. Feeling free, relaxed and comfortable makes a girl look a 1000 times better than any make-up can do. |

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? But do you prefer for her to put make-up, right?
at least you can tell she tried to look beautiful for the date. instead of just she wash her face before she leave. |

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? I understand the reasoning, but I don't like it :P
Most women I see wearing make-up and jewelry basically make themselves look less pretty. Of course it's good to see a girl takes care of herself - well tended hair & nails, healthy skin, good condition, clean, fashionable and appropriate clothing - but there's also the matter of taste. If you look good but feel like you have to wear make-up & earrings etc because it's the norm, you're missing the point. Sometimes the norm is wrong and you look better if you deviate. But that's my opinion of course ^^ |

Re: Why Japanese girl put too much make up ? disagree. If you look good and are happy with yourself ... you should never never to wear it.
