(good english school?)

I am looking for cheap and good teachers.

if you know good english school, please tell me.

If you need motivation and want to pay for lessons, then maybe a private teacher would be better, because you can choose what you want to learn and the teacher will help you. And if you don't like the teacher, you can quit easily. At English schools, sometimes you have to pay a lot of money at the beginning so it's hard to quit.

Private teachers are definitely the way to go for all the reasons PaulJ said. Just make sure the teacher is actually teaching. Lots of people just do the "general conversation" lesson...just talking about stuff.

Hi,

I teach at a school called GABA...I usedto be a NOVA teacher and I can honestly say that GAB students improve quickly because it is always man to man!! They have free trial lessons at their schools in Nishi-Umeda, Chayamachi and Shinsaibashi...Kobe is opening in October as well. Check it out!!!

Why pay 8000円 for 40 min. man-to-man lesson at GABA (GArBAge=ごみ) when you can have private, man-to-man teachers at senseisagasu.com or my-sensei.com for a more resonable 3000-3500円, 60 min. class? Somebody help me understand why GArBAge still has students?

I agree with you completely. I can confidently say that my language exchange partners get a better lesson from me (FOR FREE!) than they would get from that crappy eikaiwa school for 8000 yen.

Why does Gaba still have students? I think that some people trust companies more than they trust individuals. Gaba has some slick advertisements (my favorite is the one with a Japanese woman holding a gaijin man on a leash), and I guess some people believe the hype.

But we know that Gaba sucks.

ENGLISH BENGLISH ! bla bla bla

man the only thing the big schools tell you is lots of hype and nothing else.

NOVA is not cutting prices and that for no reason, as it desperately needs people to sign up coz no one wants to pay novas high price to help them with their Shakai Hoken problems.

GABA is only going for the niche audience, ala the young, the babe, and the cahsed up. Hence the top price.

WISDOM 21 is similar, in that its going for a niche market.

Most of them are all about image. Sure you will find some teachers who care and some who wont. THATS ALL OVER THE BOARD MY friends.

And with regards to Paul Js comments above, of course he is going to say that he is good. ( not dissin ya buddy ! just making as point thats all :p )

try it out and if you like it just go for it.

The cheapest, quickiest, the most fun way to learn Language is having a native a girl/boy friend!

This is the best way!

this is true!

If you see foreginers who can speak fluent japanese, they have japanese boy/girl friends!

yeh and the one big problem this leads to is this...

USING.

As long as your ulterior motive is not just to get free language class then by all means do it.
