Well, looking at the opinion from me who is japanese...they dont like to be different from something "usual". Of course not all japanese girls wear too much make-up, but they do because almost all of them put make-up all the time, especially going out...like everyday routine. I don't care too much about makeing up everyday,usually I dont put make-up at all when i go to school..since it's kinda taking too much time :P but at least friends around me might think of me like "She( = me) is not interested in making up, or polishing herself on fashion". Most jap girls hate to be seen like this, but I dont care....lol sorry if this is not an answer to the original question~
