Q1. What is your name?

A. Chaka Small.

Q2. Where are you originally from?

A. I was born in Jamaica and moved to Canada when I was 3, I then moved to Los Angeles when I was 12.

Q3. How long have you been in Japan?

A. one year and 4 months.

Q4. What do you do in Japan? and what were you doing before you came to Japan?

A. I teach English at a local high school. Before I came to Japan I was a struggling actor in Los Angeles.

Q5. What are you into at the moment?

A. At the moment I am into improvisational comedy or theatre sports as some people call it. I perform with a group called Pirates of the Dotombori.

Q6. Why did you start to comedy? Tell me more about it!

I mentioned to a friend that I had been an actor in Los Angeles and she told me that a guy (Mike Staffa) was starting an improv group in Osaka. I went to one of the practices and absolutely loved it. I have been doing it ever since.

Q7. Where do you usually go? Where can we find you?

A. We perform at Belabushka's in America Mura once every other month. Our next performance will be on November 19th at 7:30 at Belabushka. The performance is free but there is a one drink minimum. You can find us at piratesofthedotombori.com

Q8. What are your goals for future?

A. I plan to continue performing, enjoying my time here and to master Japanese!

Q9. What else do you want to do in the future in Japan?

A. The same as above, but I would also like to travel and see more of Japan.
